Dear Friends and Families of Church Street School for Music and Art,
We hope you have had an incredible summer, and would like to welcome you back for a new semester of community and creativity at Church Street School for Music and Art! This is shaping up to be another exciting year filled with opportunities to come together and be immersed in the creative process.
We want to extend a big thank you to all who joined us at CSSMA these past few months! We were consistently blown away by our music and art students who spend the summer months dedicated to the process of creation. It is so powerful to see what can come from just one week of steady efforts, gentle guidance from teachers, access to new ideas and materials, and consistent time with new friends. The work that was produced was incredible and the relationships and self-confidence built in the process will be gifts that will keep on giving for a lifetime. Summer 2024 was one for the books and the perfect way to wrap up a truly incredible year.
Check out these recap stats below!

For example, starting in September 2024, we are expanding our adult programs to better fulfill our mission of serving people of ALL AGES! Every Thursday we will be hosting special adult-centered music and art experiences. Events will include: Open Mic Nights, Jazz Jam Sessions, Chamber music reading parties, our new monthly Poetry Readings titled The Space Between and more! Check out the full calendar of events here.
Thank you for all that you do to bring color, vibrancy, and kindness to our community, and for showing your support for our mission of making the arts accessible to all. We have been a downtown NYC, non-profit community school for the arts since 1990 and we are so grateful to still be doing what we love! We look forward to another extraordinary year of music and art making with you.
We hope that you will join us this upcoming year in as many ways as you can!
