Tribeca Jazz Academy Summer Intensive

Coached by a members of the world-renowned Tribeca Jazz Institute and Academy faculty, TJA's Intensive Summer Workshop is open to late teen and adult performers who are ready to get their skills to the next level.


This five-day workshop is ideally suited for educators and musicians whose primary musical language is not jazz to immerse themselves in the genre with some of New York City's top educators and performers. Instrumental experience is required, Jazz experience is not required.

PRICE:

$1,500 (cash) | $1,545 (card)

SCHEDULE:

Session 1: Monday, June 21st to Friday, June 25th 2026
Instruments: voice, piano, guitar, bass, & drums

Session 2: Monday, August 2nd to Friday, August 6th
Instruments: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, bass, piano, & drums

Session 3: Monday, August 9th to Friday, August 13th
Instruments: violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, & drums

Rotating TJI & TJA Faculty

16 yrs & up

Program Details

Each Summer Intensive Includes:

  • Daily 3-hour ensemble coaching sessions

  • Daily Jazz theory & Improvisation class

  • An end of week concert/jam session


TJA Summer Intensive Daily Schedule

  • 10am to 12pm - Theory and Improv Class

  • 12pm to 1pm - Lunch

  • 1pm to 4pm - Ensemble Practice

  • 4pm to 5pm - Concert/ Jam Session (Friday only)


Private practice rooms will be available for student use in the morning before Ensemble Coaching from 9am - 10am and during lunch.

Policies

Ensemble Placements

  • Limited intensive spots are available for each instrument and ensemble.

  • Instrument placement decisions are made on a first come, first serve basis. Those who do not receive an ensemble spot will be placed on a waitlist.


Tuition Policy

  • Students accepted to the program must secure their spot by making a non-refundable $375 deposit at the time of acceptance. 

  • Full tuition for the program is due 15 days prior to the start date of the program (unless the student is accepted less than 15 days prior to the start date), unless an alternative payment plan has been agreed upon in advance.

  • Payments can be paid by cash, check, card, or bank wire.

  • Tuition Deadlines:

    • Session 1: Sunday, July 18th 2027

    • Session 2: Sunday, July 25th 2027

    • Session 3: Sunday, August 1st 2027
