
Finn Wiest
Finn Wiest is an award-winning drummer, composer, and music educator from Germany, now based in New York City. He began playing drums at the age of four and went on to win multiple national and international competitions, including the award for Best Composition at the Tremplin Jazz Festival in Avignon, France. Finn has performed internationally and at notable venues such as Carnegie Weill Recital Hall, Konzerthaus Berlin and Kölner Philharmonie. Furthermore, he has collaborated with respected musicians such as Ray Gallon, Pablo Held, Florian Ross, Tyreek McDole, Becca Stevens and Kris Davis.
As a teacher, Finn has years of experience in teaching drums, percussion, piano, and ensembles to students of all ages and musical styles. Notably, in 2024, he was invited to teach a masterclass at "Struttin Jazz Lab" in Mexico City and was assistant teacher for the Bachelor's ensembles at The City College of New York. He is passionate about helping students grow both musically and personally while building confidence, creativity, and their own unique voice through music.
