Yvonne Troxler is a pianist and composer. She has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in the US and Europe. Troxler is widely recognized as a deeply dedicated interpreter of contemporary music. Her passion for collaboration and experimentation has led her to premiere hundreds of new works by both emerging and established artists, most notably with the Glass Farm Ensemble where she also holds the position of artistic director (www.glassfarm.org). In addition to writing for a variety of different musicians and ensembles, she has written original music for several movies.
Her approach to teaching is to embrace the individual needs of each student. She says about her teaching process: “ I’m always so excited about the different personalities I get to see when I teach. And I like to find out where each student’s passion is. That is where I think the learning really starts, when it happens with passion.”
Yvonne Troxler studied in Switzerland at the Musik Akademie Basel with Peter Efler (BA, MA) and at the Conservatory Bern with Karl Engel (MA). Other teachers of her were Leonard Hokanson, M.Horzowski und P.Feuchtwanger.
