Finnegan Fine

Art Teacher

An eclectic and multi-disciplinary artist, Finn is a Brooklyn-based composer, sound designer, writer, and visual artist. They graduated with honors from the Gallatin School of New York University with a dual degree in Psychology and Creative Expression. After working at CSSMA in the early 2000s, Finn returned to school to study composition at the Mannes School of Music and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College C.U.N.Y. in New York City.

Finn believes that talent is grown, not born; that it is something that manifests over time, developing across the lifespan. Talent must be pursued by choice for its inherent rewards and be nurtured appropriately within a supportive environment if it is to mature from potential through achievement and ultimately to eminence. Talent and skill emerge as each artist brings their passion and commitment to the domains and mediums of their choosing through the joyful struggle and hard work of challenging themselves.

Finn is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), a steering committee member for the New York City Electro-Acoustic Music Festival (NYCEMF), a member of the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS), and a member of the American Composers Forum (ACF).
