Roy Dunlap

Jazz pianist Roy Dunlap attended the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, where he studied under the late John Radd, Dr. Robert Kase, and Dr. Patrick Miles. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville and received his Master’s degree from Queens College. He has studied with notable pianists Sir Roland Hanna, Elaine Elias, Ramsey Lewis, Dr. Billy Taylor, Harry Pickens, and Kevin Bales. Roy has performed with greats such as Buddy DeFranco, Arturo Sandoval, Louis Bellson, Wessell Anderson, Jack Jones, the Artie Shaw Orchestra, Wycliff Gordon, Wynton Marsalis, and Branford Marsalis. He is featured on many CDs, including Jennifer Ray’s Riverside, Dot Wilder’s Live From the Warehouse, Peggy Black’s Let’s Do It, Swing Set Quintet’s Make Blue and Blue York, Von Barlow’s Million Dollar Secret and Doug Wamble's Country Libations, Sickle Project. Currently he tours with The Doug Wamble Quartet and his own group.
