Peter Knoll

Avant-garde and jazz guitarist Peter Knoll graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music. He also holds a Diploma from the Guitar Institute in Munich, Germany and a Yamaha teaching certificate. He has studied jazz with Jerry Bergonzi and Hal Crook and participated in workshops with Steve Khan, Frank Gambale, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Curt Verheyen. He has collaborated with singer/songwriter Emily Anne Smith and played with greats such as bassist Marc Peterson and percussionist Hahlil. Peter relocated to New York from Berlin in 2004 and worked as a solo and show band guitarist for Princess Cruise Lines until November 2006. Today he performs his solo project, improvising to the silent movie Metropolis, around the city. He also performs with Tasmanian guitarist Kent Thompson (together they have played functions for German princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis), and tours Europe with his German/Austrian improvisational Quartett Conundrum.
