Faculty Bios Dimitri Dover Pianist Dimitri Dover received an honors degree in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University, where he performed extensively as a concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. He earned a Master's degree and Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Conservatory. A Graduate Assistant in accompanying at Peabody, he was awarded the Clara Ascherfeld and Sarah Stulman Zierler accompanying prizes and the Lillian Gutman Memorial Piano Prize, and was twice honored with performances at the Peabody commencement ceremony. Dimitri has been a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center and the Aspen Summer Music Festival. At Aspen he performed regularly as Orchestra Pianist in the Aspen Festival Orchestra and Aspen Chamber Orchestra under internationally renowned conductors including David Zinman and James Conlon. In July 2004 he performed Schumann's Piano Concerto at Harvard's Sanders Theatre with the Brahms Society Orchestra, Benjamin Rous conducting. His performances have been broadcast by WHRB (Cambridge) and WPRB (Princeton). His principal teachers include Ellen Mack, Robert Levin, Ann Schein, and John Perry. Dimitri’s recent performances include recitals with Richard Sher, founding cellist of the Vermeer Quartet; with cellist Caitlin Sullivan at Weill Recital Hall in New York; concerts with the Arcturus Chamber Ensemble in Boston, and with the North Shore Pro Musica of Long Island, where he performs regularly. |
