Circuit Bending

The creative short circuiting of low voltage battery powered electronic devices to create new musical instruments and sound generators. Ranging from children?s toys like the classic "Speak & Spell" and Disney's line of "Talking Books" to vintage Casio keyboards, these devices are all capable of taking on new lives as re-purposed musical instruments. In this series of workshops students will be introduced to the fundamentals of electricity, dc electronics, basic circuits, soldering and safe bending techniques. They will then get hands on experience by creating and designing their own bent instruments. Watch for workshop dates.
